It took me all of about 20 seconds of playtime to come to conclusion that this game is absolutely fantastic.

Simple but it works. Animation and concept is fun.
Your preloader doesn't appear soon enough though. I think all of your classes are set to export on the same frame as your preloader (frame 1). Add another frame to the scene that the preloader is in, then go to File>Publish Settings>Actionscript Settings (a wrench icon)>set export classes in frame:1 to export classes in frame: 2. This way the frame with the preloader will load and display itself much earlier.
Hope it helps, good luck.

CactusGaming responds:

Thanks for that :D We'll get round to trying that out!

The game is a bit simple but everything runs smoothly. The parallax effect of the stars in the background is a nice touch.

FL0PIE responds:

Thanks for the feedback!
Much appreciated !

It kept me interested long enough to finish it. That's pretty impressive for such a simple concept. No complaints with graphics or sound. I didn't encounter any major glitches.

The game is short and lacks any replay value, which are small complaints considering this is a flash game.

jn2002dk responds:

Thank you very much

Try using stage.setFocus=stage; or something like that so that after you click the try again button you don't have to click a second time to use the arrow keys.

anlglgr responds:

it is fixed now ! thanks.

Since the game was made 48 hours I won't judge things like graphics and sound. Just the concept and gameplay.
Using your laser as your movement system makes interesting skill based gameplay. Lasering rocks and moving are, by themselves easy, but when they are combined into the same mechanic it becomes a challenge.
I'd like to see some complexity added to the game though. Like different types/sizes of rocks and/or artifacts plus more complex levels (maybe cave systems?). Flying the ship is fun but the level surrounding needs to be fun to fly in.

CaffeineViking responds:

I completely agree with you! The things you pointed out are things that I wanted to add to the game but I needed to cut them in order to get a "full" game working in 48 hours. Thanks for taking your time to review!

The game is ok. There are a few bugs. I found the merchant before killing the slime and he said. He couldn't sell me anything because I didn't have money, but my gold still went into the negative. So the gold from the slime left me with only 3 gold. On top of that, sometimes the navigation doesn't make sense. Going south at the desert gets you to the forest east of the campsite.
Aside from these bugs I like the music. The interface works great but the north, south, east, and west buttons could be mapped to the keyboard keys N,W,S,&E. Also, considering it is the only thing you ever see, the interface could use some work graphically. I'm not you should lose that 8-bit feel but there could be more than Arial font and rectangles drawn in flash for buttons.

Brunodev responds:

Thanks for your review. Just fixed the bug of currency and fixed the South at desert. Please keep those bugs report coming so I can fix them.
*Updating the .swf shortly.

The game wasn't especially fun. But I think the real point is that it doesn't use flash. It ran smoothly on my Galaxy Nexus with dolphin browser. Nice job.

Sirtopeia responds:

You, my friend, realize a major point of this project. I'm glad it worked for you!
I do plan to make some other, more fun games, with a small crew who can design more eye appealing things to look at. I'm just a pretty good programmer really :D
